Founded by Matt and Nicki Broad, Energise Personal Fitness offers bespoke personal training packages for a wide range of clients seeking to improve their health, well-being, fitness or body shape. Whether it’s training for a particular sport, competition, weight loss or staying fit, our aim is to support all our clients through genuine motivation, interaction and attention to our clients goals.
After successful and rewarding careers in the NHS, we decided that our knowledge and skills of providing medical care would allow us to deliver an exceptional professional approach to health and fitness training. Combined with our own passion for fitness, our professional medical experience allows us to fully understand the working of the human body and how to maximise fitness training to achieve the best results.

Operating from an exclusive private studio, Energise is powered by Matrix Fitness. Acorn Lodge is equipped with the very latest, high specification cardiovascular machines and fitness equipment. Clients of Energise will have the exclusive use of the studio during their 1-2-1 training sessions with access to small group classes held regularly throughout the week. Our studio is not open to the general public nor do we operate a gym only membership. Parking is available and we have made our studio child welcoming, we can cater for small children and babies to allow parents to train! We are the only personal fitness company to have a fully equipped treatment room and sports therapist available to provide sports massage therapies on site.

Nicki brings a wealth of knowledge in health and fitness to Energise, as well as competing in a range of sports to international level. Nicki is educated to degree level having attained a 2:1 BA (Hons) in Leisure and Recreation Management with a specialism in sports science from the University of Glamorgan. Nicki moved into the leisure industry after university and trained as a fitness instructor. Nicki joined the NHS Ambulance Service and qualified as a paramedic in 2004.
Nicki is a qualified ASA swim coach and has attained Team GB age group qualification standard in sprint triathlon distance. Nicki competed in the 2019 ETU European Championships Kazan, Russia in July 2019 attaining a top ten finish. Alongside her love of triathlon, Nicki enjoys Netball, Tennis and Hockey and has competed at county level.
Nicki is a mother of 2 and knows how finding time to exercise can be a challenge:
“I understand the challenges of being a busy mum and balancing a hectic home and work life along with finding time to train. With the right motivation, drive and support you can achieve anything! I set my challenges after having my children to qualify for GB triathlon age group and have achieved this. This from entering into the sport only a few years ago. Hard work, dedication and motivation really has shown to prove you can achieve ambitious goals”
Matt was born in North West Kent. After completing his formal education, Matt joined the NHS Ambulance Service to begin a 21 year career with the NHS. Matt left the NHS in September 2018, his last post being an Executive Director. During his successful career in the NHS, he has attained a wide range of experiences from providing emergency paramedic care to chairing a committee of a national charity.
Matt is a qualified FA coach and his sporting passions include cycling, football, triathlon with a focus on strength and conditioning. Matt has participated in many endurance cycling and running events including a 999 mile road cycling event, charity cycle event between the Blackpool Tower and the Eiffel Tower in Paris as well as competing in many 5/10km races, triathlons and half/full marathons.
"For me health and fitness are so important. It doesn't matter if you compete or train to keep healthy, getting involved in keeping fit brings so many benefits. I am passionate about helping others achieve their goals and especially working with families and younger clients who have embraced a fitness challenge. Nicki and I have created Energise to do just this, our motivation is to see the changes we help make happen making a real difference to the lives of our clients"
